Biography:

Dr. Geenen was named one of the “400 Best Doctors in America” by Good Housekeeping Magazine, as well as was named one of the best in the Milwaukee area by Milwaukee Magazine. He is a world renowned expert in the field of Gastroenterology and has pioneered research work in the area of therapeutic endoscopy for treatment of ulcers, gallstones, pancreatic disease and sphincter of Oddi Dysfunction. He is the editor of six books, published over 100 articles and written 22 book chapters. He has been a faculty speaker at many national and international conferences. Over the years, he has received many awards including the prestigious Schindler Award and Bengt Ihre Award, presented to him by the Swedish Medical Society. He received the American Gastroenterology Association’s Distinguished Clinician Award in 1999. He was named Alumni of the Year in 2000 by the Medical College of Wisconsin/Marquette University and received the Alumni of the Year Award in 2001 by the Medical College of Wisconsin. The Republican Party of Racine County (Wisconsin) awarded him the “1992 Distinguished Citizen Award.”
